Travis Valuation is a valuation workbench for Canadian and U.S. stocks, built by a retired AACI real estate appraiser: several approaches to value side by side, each with its formula and its limits. On September 14, 2026 it was checked against 14 paid research platforms. Here is where it stood out.

After-tax yield by Canadian account type

A dividend payer's research page shows the same yield in a TFSA, FHSA, RRSP, RESP and taxable account, for the province and tax bracket you choose at 2026 rates, with U.S. withholding tax and the dividend tax credit accounted for. It's free on the Dow 30, up to 10 of today's screener passers and every stock the letter has featured, and on every stock with Pro. None of the 14 platforms' pricing or feature pages mentioned a TFSA or RRSP view.

Several valuation methods on one page

One ticker gets the Graham Number and Graham's growth formulas, earnings power value, net current asset value, a discounted cash flow with a value range, a reverse DCF, a dividend discount model, owner earnings, the PEG ratio and the Acquirer's Multiple, plus the Piotroski, Altman and Beneish scores, each with its formula and citation.

A value built for banks and insurers

Graham's checklist misreads financial companies, so their research pages add a justified price-to-book value: book value per share times the average return on equity, divided by the return you require. It stays hidden where that reading doesn't fit, such as asset managers, funds and exchanges.

Client tools at an independent's price

Pro adds multi-client portfolio management, a client report you can print or save as a PDF, model portfolios compared against each client's holdings, and tax-scenario tools for multi-year projections and withdrawal order, for CA$19.99 a month or CA$199 a year. Among the 14 platforms, the cheapest advisor plan with client reports and a published price was $209 a month, billed annually (the platform doesn't state a currency).

Standards in writing

Dated prices, disclosed holdings and no buying ahead of the letter are set out on the Research standards page.
