Privacy Policy

Last updated July 17, 2026

This page explains what information Travis Valuation collects, why, and how it's handled. It applies to travisvaluation.ca and the Travis Valuation app.

Information you provide

  • Account information— when you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and whatever else your chosen sign-in method requires (e.g. a password, or basic profile details from a social sign-in). We don't see or store your password.
  • Watchlist and portfolio data— tickers you save, notes you write, custom alert target prices, and any account names, account types, share counts, or cost-basis figures you enter into the Portfolio tracker. This is stored so it's there the next time you sign in, on any device.
  • Push notification data — if you enable push alerts, your browser generates a subscription (an endpoint URL and encryption keys) that we store so we know where to send a notification. This is device-specific, not tied to your name.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs standard web request data for every visit — things like IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — the way essentially every website does, mainly for security and reliability. We don't run advertising trackers or sell any data to third parties, and we don't currently use analytics tools that build an advertising profile of you.

What we don't collect (yet)

Travis Valuation does not currently process payments, so no billing or card information is collected. If paid plans are introduced in the future, payment processing will be handled by a dedicated, PCI-compliant payment processor — card details would never be stored on our own servers, and this policy will be updated before that happens.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers (subprocessors) to run the app, each only for the purpose described:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Neon — our Postgres database host, where your watchlist/portfolio/account data lives.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Financial Modeling Prep and Alpha Vantage— market data providers. We query them for public ticker data (prices, financial statements); we don't send them any information about you.
  • Browser push services (e.g. Google, Mozilla, Apple, depending on your browser) — a standard part of how Web Push notifications work; they relay the encrypted alert content to your device without seeing your name or account.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies

Our authentication provider sets a session cookie so you stay signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Your account data is kept as long as your account is active. There isn't a self-serve “delete my account” button yet — to request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at travisvaluation@gmail.com.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Travis Valuation is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
